There is no requirement to download or use the Lomalo wallet app. Setting up a Lomalo account is voluntary. It does not replace traditional methods such as checks or direct deposits — those remain fully available. Lomalo is simply one additional option, offered free of charge with no fees for citizens. Citizens will be able to receive their ENRA using any of the three delivery channels:

- ACH bank (direct) deposit
- The Lomalo digital wallet

Citizens who prefer not to use Lomalo will continue receiving ENRA through their existing method with no change or disadvantage.

Lomalo is a Marshallese word meaning "our ocean" or "shared waters."

The Lomalo Digital Wallet is an application created specifically for Marshallese citizens, enabling instant, secure, person-to-person transfers across every atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Lomalo makes it easy to send and receive funds by connecting with any verified Lomalo user. Users can manage their contacts, view their transaction history, and receive ENRA benefits disbursements directly through the app.

Yes. Lomalo connects every verified user at zero cost and with zero fees. Lomalo is free to download and citizens incur no fees when sending transfers or holding funds in their wallets.

Development of the Lomalo wallet is funded by a grant from a nonprofit foundation.

Qualified citizens can set up a wallet by downloading the app on either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

‍Once downloaded, citizens will be guided through a four-step process to confirm your account access. Citizens will need to input their Full Name, Email Address, Phone Number, MISSA Number, and Date of Birth. Once verified, you can access Lomalo from your mobile device.

This information is required to confirm that you are a Marshallese citizen and to keep the wallet secure. These citizen limitations will remain in place as Lomalo continues its phased rollout.

Lomalo follows strict data protection and security standards. All personal information is encrypted, and only you can access your wallet. The wallet uses one time passwords (OTP) to verify device/ user associations when signing in. A PIN number can be set to add a further layer of user protection.

Your financial activity is never shared with third parties, and all transfers follow RMI law, MISSA verification procedures, and established safeguards.

Yes. Lomalo is an approved disbursement mechanism supporting ENRA (UBI) disbursements.

The Ministry of Finance announced this approval and published a paper detailing the advantages of a digital distribution mechanism for RMI citizens.

For the first ENRA disbursement, a small cohort of early adopters volunteered to receive benefits directly in their Lomalo wallets to ensure system readiness.

USDM1 is the Sovereign Digital Bond of Republic of the Marshall Islands.

USDM1 facts:
- 1:1 collateralized with short-dated U.S. Treasuries
- Held in an independent U.S. trust
- A legally enforceable sovereign obligation of the RMI
- Modeled on a globally trusted financial structure used for decades, called Brady bonds

USDM1 is a suitable mechanism for ENRA because it enables secure digital benefit distribution with instant delivery, even across distant atolls. Since it operates on the blockchain it enables verifiable, low-cost digital transactions with clear auditing of benefits transfers.

Yes. Each USDM1 unit can be redeemed for U.S. dollars, including any accrued interest, under the terms of the bond.

The funds in your Lomalo wallet are your property.  USDM1 tokens represent a claim on the portfolio of underlying assets. Meaning citizens can redeem their tokens 1:1 with US dollars even if: the Lomalo app experiences an outage, or the blockchain is temporarily inaccessible.

Because USDM1 is backed by U.S. Treasuries held in a custodial trust, citizens retain full redemption rights. The system is designed with multiple layers of redundancy to avoid any single points of failure.
